What examinations are required by law for sex workers?
Anyone offering sexual services in Tyrol needs a valid health certificate. The examinations and counselling are available in Innsbruck at the public health department. You can also get the health booklet there. Examinations also take place in Kufstein, Schwaz and Reutte.
The examination does not replace a preventive examination by a gynaecologist, andrologist or urologist. Only certain infectious diseases that are prescribed by law can be examined at the public health department:
- AIDS (HIV)
- Syphilis (Lues)
- Gonorrhoea (gonorrhoea)
- Tuberculosis (pulmonary tuberculosis)
- Chlamydia (not required by law, no influence on the health book)
A smear test is required every 6 weeks (gonorrhoea), with an additional blood test at every second appointment (HIV, syphilis).
We will refer you for an X-ray examination of the lungs once a year in accordance with the German Ordinance on Serial Examinations. Here you will find a list of radiologists in Innsbruck.
Medical and social counselling is also provided at the beginning of your employment and as required.
