Youth Orchestra Crescendo

Direction: David Alexander Arroyabe

Since 2008/09 David Alexander Arroyabe has been leading the youth orchestra "Crescendo", after Johannes Huber had done valuable development work with the orchestra for many years.

Currently the ensemble consists of about 25 members, mostly students of the music school, but also some guests. Most of the participants are about eleven to 15 years old, but there are also some students and adults.

The core instrumentation is a pure string ensemble, to which - depending on the program - other musicians are added.

Performances

The ensemble made its debut in November 2008 in the Great City Hall with works by Edward Elgar, Joseph Haydn and Irish folk music.

Since then, the orchestra has performed annually at the Christmas and Carnival concerts, and regularly participates in the summer festivals in the Hofgarten and concert tours of the music school.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. during school hours in the Orchestra Rehearsal Hall.
