Conductor: Mag. David Alexander Arroyabe

David Alexander Arroyabe has been conducting the Crescendo youth orchestra since 2008/09, after many years of valuable development work by Johannes Huber with the orchestra.

The ensemble currently consists of around 45 members, mostly pupils from the music school, but also some guests. Most of the members are around eleven to 15 years old, but there are also some students and adults.

The core line-up is a pure string ensemble, which is joined by other musicians depending on the program.

The ensemble made its debut in November 2008 in the Great City Hall with works by Edward Elgar, Joseph Haydn and Irish folk music.

Since then, the orchestra has performed annually at the Christmas and Carnival concerts, and regularly participates in the summer festivals in the Hofgarten and concert tours of the music school.
