Over 100 teachers currently teach around 4,500 music pupils at the Innsbruck Music School. In addition to lessons in instrumental subjects, early musical education and choir, the music school offers a wide range of free ensembles and supplementary subjects.

The Innsbruck Music School is endeavouring to admit as many pupils as possible and asks for your understanding!
Open day
Children, parents and anyone interested in music are cordially invited to the open day to get to know and try out instruments.
The date for the next open day in the 2026/2027 school year will be announced in good time.

The history
Over 200 years ago, on June 2, 1818, the Verein zur Beförderung der Tonkunst was founded in Innsbruck with an associated music school. The commemorative publication "200 years of the Musikverein. Music School. Conservatory" from the Innsbruck City Archives shows the history of the institution.
