Over 100 teachers currently teach around 4,500 music students at the Innsbruck Music School. In addition to lessons in instrumental subjects, early musical education and the singing school, the music school offers a variety of free ensembles and supplementary subjects.
Important information about the start of the 2025/2026 school year
The result of the newly admitted students for the winter semester 2025/2026 will be announced by posting in the music school and here on the website.
We endeavor to accept as many students as possible and ask for your understanding!
Open day
Children, parents and anyone interested in music are cordially invited to the open day to get to know and try out instruments.
The open day will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the music school.

The history
Over 200 years ago, on June 2, 1818, the Verein zur Beförderung der Tonkunst was founded in Innsbruck with an associated music school. The commemorative publication "200 years of the Musikverein. Music School. Conservatory" from the Innsbruck City Archives shows the history of the institution.
