Over 100 teachers currently teach around 4,500 music students at the Innsbruck Music School. In addition to lessons in instrumental subjects, early musical education and the singing school, the music school offers a variety of free ensembles and supplementary subjects.

The result of the newly admitted students for the winter semester 2024/2025 will be announced by posting in the music school and here on the website.
We endeavor to accept as many students as possible and ask for your understanding!
BRASSCUSSION - Workshop
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, there will be a workshop for brass and timpani/percussion/sticks with members of the ensemble BRASSCUSSION (conductor: Reinhard Toriser) at the Innsbruck Music School.
The event is aimed at experienced musicians:
Teachers, students, advanced pupils and musicians will receive valuable suggestions on interpretation, playing technique and performance practice from internationally active instrumentalists.

WORKSHOP & CONCERT
with Jennifer Batten
Jennifer Batten - known as Michael Jackson's lead guitarist and member of Jeff Beck's band, among other things - will be making a guest appearance in Innsbruck from October 9 to 10, 2024.
She can be experienced with her innovative guitar playing on October 9 from 7 p.m. in the Treibhaus-Keller in Innsbruck.
She will be holding a workshop for electric guitarists on October 10 from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm in the Ursulinensaal. Those interested will be given an insight into various playing techniques, especially on the subject of tapping.

Open day
Children, parents and anyone interested in music are cordially invited to the "Open Day" to get to know and try out instruments.
The "Open Day" will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the premises of the music school .

History
200 years ago, on June 2, 1818, the Verein zur Beförderung der Tonkunst (Association for the Promotion of Musical Art) was founded in Innsbruck with an associated music school. The commemorative publication "200 Jahre Musikverein. Music School. Conservatory" of the Innsbruck City Archives shows the history of the institution.
