Who is responsible for dirty roads?
- In the event of oil spills, City Department Professional fire department in the event of imminent danger; otherwise City Department Road operations

- If you have found a dead animal, please contact [ Service Unit Veterinary services
- City Department Green spaces is responsible for dealing with litter in parks.
- For litter bins , it depends on where they are located.
- On the street City Department Road operations is usually responsible.
- In parks and on playgrounds, it’s the [ City Department Green spaces
- In woodland areas and on footpaths, the [ Service Unit Forest and mountain pastures
- Where shrubs and trees obstruct traffic areas, there are different responsibilities:
- If plants from private property are growing onto public areas, the residents are responsible for trimming them back. Find out more under ‘Obligations regarding shrub trimming’.
- For traffic areas, either the [ City Department Green spaces or the [ City Department Road operations is responsible.
What are residents’ obligations when it comes to pruning shrubs?
Section 91 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO ) requires residents to keep the public space in front of their properties free of branches, shrubs, hedges and other vegetation.
- Footpaths and cycle paths must be kept clear up to a height of 2.5 metres above ground level.
- Roads must be kept clear up to a height of 4.5 metres.
- If branches hang lower than this, property owners are obliged to trim them.
- The boundary up to which pruning must be carried out is the respective property boundary.

Who takes care of road maintenance?
Minor potholes and damage to the road are dealt with by City Department Road operations For large projects, the City Department Civil engineering is responsible.
Who do I report dangerous spots on hiking trails to?
