The workshop "Smart & Fit on mobile phones for seniors" offers a practical introduction to the use of smartphones in everyday life. Older participants learn how to use their devices effectively in interactive sessions. The focus is on basic functions and how to use them in everyday life. Experienced trainers support the participants in using apps and social media for communication. The aim is to teach participants basic skills for safe surfing on the internet. They will learn how to create strong passwords, use password managers and apply two-factor authentication. They will also learn how to recognise phishing and spam emails and how to deal with suspicious messages. This workshop will teach you how to recognise reliable information and improve your online security in a digitalised world with the increasing influence of artificial intelligence and social media. You will learn how to identify fake news and AI-supported deepfakes and recognise credible news sources. You will also receive practical tips on how to strengthen your online privacy, such as creating secure passwords and recognising phishing emails. Discussions and exercises will deepen your knowledge of privacy while you develop concrete strategies to distinguish fact from fiction.
