Architecture Days

The Little Sill. A journey through time along the former Sill Canal.

As part of the 2026 Architecture Days, themed ‘What Connects Us: Everyday Infrastructures’, aut. architektur and tirol, together with Service Unit City Archives/City Museum presented a small but exquisite exhibition on the Sill Canal and the viaduct arches during the Bogenfest at Bogen 55. Around 60 photographs and plans from the Innsbruck City Archives/City Museum were on display. Much of the research was based on articles that had appeared over the previous five years on the in-house image blog innsbruck-erinnert.at.

Infrastructure is omnipresent, yet usually remains in the background. It encompasses a broad spectrum, ranging from energy and water through to transport and mobility, right up to waste and much more – it affects and connects us all. Infrastructure enables our daily lives to run smoothly, but it also shapes urban and rural spaces. These structures, which are often invisible to us, are the focus of the 2026 Architecture Days.

Coinciding with the Innsbruck Arch Festival, the Architecture Days will draw to a close with a small exhibition at Kulturbogen55 on the history of the viaduct arches and the former Sill Canal .
