Where can I get a certificate of life?
You can obtain a certificate of life from the Citizens’ Service Centre.
How do I get a certificate of residence?
- You must have your main residence in Innsbruck.
- You must visit the Service Unit Citizen service and lost property service in person.
- If you are unable to do so, a trusted person may do this on your behalf. To do so, this person will also need a certificate of residence from your accommodation or a doctor’s certificate (the doctor’s certificate must not be more than 3 days old).
- You will need:
- €2.10 for the administrative fee (payable by debit card or cash)
- a valid photo ID (passport, identity card or driving licence)
- a letter from the department requesting the confirmation of life

Please note that we process the personal data you have disclosed exclusively for the purpose of issuing a confirmation of life in the Municipality of Innsbruck.
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent and the personal data will not be disclosed to third parties. The personal data will be deleted after the death of the person concerned. The provision of the personal data is necessary for the issuance of the confirmation of life.
