50th anniversary of the Olympics: 1976-2026

A special edition of the official newsletter Innsbruck Informiert is being published to mark the Olympic anniversary.

Podcast series to mark the Olympic anniversary:

• over 10 episodes with conversations with former athletes, contemporary witnesses and other exciting personalities

The exhibition shows how the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics shaped Innsbruck in terms of construction.

It presents selected sports facilities, infrastructure and urban development projects and their significance to this day.

12 photo banks with selected moments from the 1976 Winter Olympics are exhibited in Innsbruck city centre.

A mix of sport and atmosphere, ladies and gentlemen in various sports in black and white and colour photographs.

Corresponding to the five Olympic rings, there are five stations with 25 tasks to be solved.

Sunny "Sunny" and
Schneemandl "Snowy" (mascot 1976) accompany all participants digitally through the stations.

The Olympic Games are more than just sports venues! The virtual Olympic map shows what Innsbruck's sewage treatment plant has to do with the 1976 Games.

Developed together with the University of Innsbruck, the Department of Urban Planning and the Innsbruck City Archive/Museum, the map invites you to rediscover familiar and unfamiliar places .

In the style of previous Tyrolean school winter games, ski races are organised by pupils from Tyrolean secondary schools together with SC Patscherkofel.

Winter sports legends will be present at the award ceremony!

To mark the anniversary, everyone can buy a day ticket for the Patscherkofel for 5 euros.

In the footsteps of Franz Klammer's Olympic victory - after the Olympia Lounge on the Patscherkofel directly onto the downhill runs of 1976.

For the 70s ice skating disco with Life Radio Tirol, the speed skating rink will be transported back to the time of the Olympic Games.

Several special screenings of the Franz Klammer documentary "Chasing the Line".

The first screening will be opened by Franz Klammer himself and is a charity event in favour of the Franz Klammer Foundation.
