Youth Philharmonic Orchestra

The Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of the Innsbruck Music School, conducted by Walter Enko, is a string orchestra comprising pupils from the middle and upper school years. It was founded in 2005 at the suggestion of Director MMag. Dr. Wolfram Rosenberger.

Achievements

The string orchestra made its debut at the Prima la Musica awards ceremony in March 2006 at the Großer Stadtsaal in Innsbruck. The ensemble subsequently gave concerts at the European Forum Alpbach, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Congress Centre and the Dogana in Innsbruck. In April 2016, the young musicians even gave a concert at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig.

The Youth Philharmonic is conducted by Walter Enko, who takes great pleasure in drawing on his many years’ experience as first violinist with the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck in his teaching role at the Innsbruck Music School.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals take place on Mondays from 4.50 pm to 6.30 pm in the orchestra rehearsal room during school term time.
