Reichenau – Vom Lagerkomplex zum Gedenkort
Time - Space - Innsbruck: Volume 19
During the Second World War, a camp complex was set up in Innsbruck's Reichenau district, where people were imprisoned, tortured and even murdered. In addition to the Gestapo's labour education camp, the complex included a municipal camp for prisoners of war and civilian prisoners as well as a camp for the Reichsbahn and a camp for the Reichspost.
As part of the construction of the new memorial site in Reichenau, the history of this Nazi crime scene is being thoroughly researched in an interdisciplinary manner. Numerous new insights have already been gained, for example about the history of the camp complex, the victims and its subsequent use, which are the focus of this volume.
