Value of the scholarship: € 5,000
The International Fellowship Programme for Visual Arts and Theory at Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen was established in 2003. Two years later, the Innsbruck municipal authority decided to endow the programme with an annual working scholarship worth 4,000 euros.
The objective of the programme is to create a local context for production and dialogue in which artists and theorists can enrich a supra-regional artistic and social discourse with local topics. The programme also provides an experimental artistic laboratory where new ideas can be tried out.
The fellows selected by the expert jury are invited to spend one or two semesters in Büchsenhausen, where they work on the projects submitted and participate in a parallel discourse in the form of public events.
The notice of competition is sent out by Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen, and visual artists, critics, media artists, theorists and curators can submit their project proposals directly to Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen by the deadline for entries. An expert jury nominated by Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen then decides who is to receive the scholarship for that year.
