ARTHUR HAIDL AWARD

Value of the award: € 10,000 every 2nd year

Arthur Haidl was Deputy Mayor of Innsbruck and head of the Tyrolean Youth Department. Since 2004 his daughter Dr. Roswitha Stiegner has donated an annual Arthur Haidl Award in memory of her father. The award is for projects and initiatives in the fields of culture, youth, traditional customs, education and the humanities. The prizewinner is expected to have made a contribution to Innsbruck and its standing.

Who can apply?

Innsbruck’s Arthur Haidl Award can be made to both individuals and legal persons (e.g. associations, initiatives with a significant action radius).

Individuals:
Maximum of 33 years old on the date of the deadline for submissions
Citizen of the EU
Uninterrupted residence in Innsbruck for at last five years OR in the Tyrol (North, South or East) for at least ten years

Legal persons:
Legal persons that have existed for at least three years can submit projects or programmes. Submission for third parties is permitted.

Who decides?

A preliminary decision on the winner is taken by a jury comprising Innsbruck’s Chief Executive, the head of the Office of Culture and the Rector of Innsbruck University. The final decision is taken by the Mayor. The Mayor also has the right to cancel the award for a year without giving a reason. The Arthur Haidl Award is presented to the prizewinner in a formal ceremony.
